Experience the thrill of walking amongst and interacting with these colourful and spectacular invertebrates whilst learning all about their fascinating life cycle, the importance of butterflies in our environment and how you can attract butterflies to your own garden.

Tour Highlights:

  • Spend 10 minutes inside the Butterfly Enclosure in a group of up to 4 others, along with the Invertebrate Keeper.
  • Visitors can experience butterflies flying around them, and see all stages of butterfly development.
  • Listen to a brief rundown about the workings of the Butterfly Enclosure.

Age:                All ages.  Children 1 year old and under free, but must be held by an adult and do not count towards the group number.
Duration:         10 minutes.
Cost:                $11.00 per person.

Booking Conditions:

  • Entry to Cleland Wildlife Park is not included. Valid entry is compulsory for all encounters. 
  • Maximum number of guests per experience is 4. 
  • Receipt of payment must be presented to keeper for entry.
  • All children must purchase a ticket, and be accompanied by an adult.   Infants (children 3 years and under) may be held in the arms of a paying adult and included in the experience at no cost, and will not be counted as a person. 
  • Prams are not permitted in the experience area. 
  • This experience is not accessible by wheelchair, however is still available to people with accessibility needs and will occur outside of the enclosure.
  • Online bookings close as soon as the experience is booked to maximum capacity, or 9.00am the day of the experience.  Ticket sales on park will close at 11.45am.
  • No shows or late arrivals will not receive a refund.
  • If you are late, your tour will still commence and conclude at the designated time.
  • Please note, we have a heat policy for the welfare of our animals. If the temperature is forecast to reach 36 degrees at Mt Barker, then it is too hot for this experience to take place. We will notify you of the cancellation and issue you with a full refund.  Animal management reserve the right, in extreme weather or other conditions outside of the park’s control, to cancel experience. Management reserve the right to cancel tours for safety reasons, at any time.
  • Cancellations made by a customer requires a minimum of 5 days’ notice. Cancellations shorter than this period will not be refunded. If a refund is authorised, it will be made within 28 days of booking date. 
  • Enclosed and flat suitable footwear must be worn during the encounter.
  • Participants must follow all instructions given by keeper staff, for safety reasons. 
  • Cleland Wildlife Park does not take responsibility for any injuries sustained.
  • All participants must adhere to current government COVID requirements.
