Bush Mates is a “kids only zone” for 7 to 12 year olds.

 

This drop-off program is a great opportunity to meet new people whilst exploring Cleland Wildlife Park.


Let us ensure your kids have fun these school holidays with our Bush Mates. Our 3 hour school holiday program is held outdoors and is jam-packed with fun activities, encouraging curiosity through nature-based hands-on learning opportunities. We’ll even meet some animals along the way!  Our key aim is to provide participants (kids) with an opportunity to appreciate and connect with nature.

There are only 10 spaces available per session, so book now.
The Bush Mates program requires a minimum of 4 participants to run.

 

 

Highlights:

·        If you are interested in animals and nature and like being outside, then this program is 

         for you!

·        Spend the morning exploring our extensive park and getting creative in nature.

·        Feed, interact with and get up-close with some of our native Australian animals.

·        Please note the minimum age for this experience is 7 years, no exceptions.

Time:                    Tuesdays - 10:00am to 1:00pm

Duration:               3 hours

Age:                      7 - 12 years inclusive

Cost:                     $41.50 (program fee), plus entry fee

Capacity:               4 to 10 participants                     

 

 What to Bring:

·        Snacks (outdoor adventuring is exhausting work)

·        Lunch BYO (no peanuts allowed)      

         **We do have a lunch order option. This includes a healthy sandwich and hot chips 

         (must be purchased when booking ticket)

·        Re-usable water bottle

·        Comfortable footwear

·        A hat in summer

·        Jacket in winter

·        Your sense of adventure!

 

 Lunch Options: 

1.    Bush Mates lunch - $14.00:  hot chips, healthy sandwich and a fruit box.

       Sandwich options: ham and cheese, chicken, mayonnaise and lettuce, plain cheese.

 2.   Bring your own health lunch/snacks from home (BYO).



Winter 2024 – Theme: ‘Animal Traces’ (scats and tracks)

Who isn’t fascinated by poo?  What footprint does an echidna leave behind?  Come along and discover the mystery of animal tracks and scats.  From scavenger hunts to making your own animal track, kids will be given the opportunity to play games, have fun in nature, meet some animals and get their hands dirty.

Spring 2024 – Theme: ‘Animal Olympics’  (animal special skills – like Olympians)

This program focuses on the amazing skills our animals have compared to Olympic athletes. It’s a fun and hands-on way to engage kids with amazing facts about our Aussie animals, and how they survive in the wild. Kids will have the opportunity to explore their own abilities, both mentally and physically, by trying out the Olympic challenges.
